Customs Brokerage

Service Overview

Two AEO-Advanced brokerages and 50+ licensed declarants

120,000 entries a year at 99.8% declaration accuracy

Licensed to declare at 28 Chinese ports, import and export

Customs clearance is the part of a shipment where small errors become expensive. A misclassified HS code, a value that does not reconcile with the invoice, a missing licence for a regulated commodity — any one of them turns a routine entry into an inspection, and an inspection into demurrage. E-AndEx files around 120,000 entries a year at 99.8% accuracy and a 99.5% first-pass rate, on a declaration platform we built and maintain ourselves.

How It Works

Send us the commercial invoice, packing list and contract, along with the HS code if you have one. If you do not, send a product description and we will classify it. Most clearance problems originate at this stage, so we check the classification, the declared value, the origin documentation and any licence requirements before anything is lodged — not after customs has raised a query.

Once the documents are clean, we lodge the declaration through our own platform and track it to release. If customs selects the entry for document review or physical inspection, our declarant at that port handles it directly and keeps you informed with what was asked and what we answered. You get the release notification, the duty and tax breakdown and the complete document set for your records.

Classification & Pre-Declaration Review

HS code classification, valuation review, origin verification and licence checks completed before lodgement, with any risk flagged to you while it can still be corrected cheaply.

Declaration & Customs Liaison

Entries lodged on our proprietary platform and followed through to release, with our own declarant at each of 28 ports handling document reviews and physical inspections face to face.

AEO Certification Consulting

Full accreditation support for manufacturers and traders seeking AEO status — gap assessment, internal control documentation, process remediation and audit preparation. We have taken more than 100 enterprises through certification.

Why Choose Our Customs Brokerage

Most forwarders subcontract clearance to a broker you never meet, which is why a classification question takes two days to answer and nobody can tell you where the entry actually is. Our brokerage sits inside the same company as the freight desks, and the numbers below are the result of running it that way for two decades.

For a standard export: commercial invoice, packing list, sales contract and the export declaration. For import: the same set plus the bill of lading or air waybill, and any certificate of origin needed to claim a preferential duty rate. Regulated commodities may additionally require an import or export licence, an inspection certificate, fumigation certification for wooden packaging, or a dangerous goods declaration. Send us the HS code and we will confirm the exact list before you ship.

Customs may request a document review or a physical examination. Our declarant at that port attends in person, responds to the query and works to release the cargo as quickly as the process allows. You will be told what was asked, what we answered and what it will cost in time. Most inspections we attend originate in a classification or valuation discrepancy — which is why we review both before lodgement rather than after.

The importer of record carries the legal liability, which is exactly why classification should not be guessed. We classify against the current tariff schedule, document the reasoning, and flag anything ambiguous to you before filing rather than picking the convenient code and hoping. Where a commodity genuinely sits between two headings, we will say so and set out the risk each way.

For a pre-notified shipment with complete and consistent documents, same-day release at Qingdao is routine, and most other ports clear within one working day. Document reviews add a day or two; physical inspections can add three to five. AEO-Advanced status materially reduces how often an entry is selected at all, which is the single biggest lever on average clearance time.

Yes. Customs brokerage is a standalone service — you do not need to move the freight with us. Send the documents ahead of arrival and we will review the classification and flag any risk before the vessel berths.

It depends on your volume and how often you are currently held. Below a few hundred declarations a year the administrative effort rarely pays back. Above that, the reduction in inspection frequency and the priority treatment during disruption usually justify it within the first year — and an increasing number of overseas buyers now ask about AEO status during supplier audits. Send us your declaration volume and we will give you a straight answer either way.
